Rosacea is a common, chronic, adult acne-like skin condition that is easily controllable and medically manageable. It causes redness on the face. Sometimes red pimples and red vascular lines begin to show up on your face and sometimes the nose begins to swell. It may also affect in eyes with problems like swelling, redness and conjunctivitis. Broken blood vessels in your eyelids can also cause bleeding in the eyes. It can even spread to neck, head, ears and chest. In some cases, the broken blood vessels begin to show through the skin causing uneven swelling. The exact cause of Rosacea is not known but it is believed to be a combination of hereditary and environmental factors. Rosacea triggers include sun exposure, alcohol, hot or spicy foods, emotional stress, smoking, and heat.

The treatment and medication can help manage the redness, bumps and other symptoms. Usage of sunscreen helps in managing Rosacea and direct sunlight, alcohol should be avoided. Apart from medication, Laser Treatments & Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) may also be used. Microdermabrasion treatment can also be used to reduce the skin thickening.

The Rosacea symptoms may come and go but if left untreated, it may worsen. This is why as soon as the symptoms begin to show it is very important that one should seek medical help.
